UPSC medical services recrutiment 2026 - 1358 vacancy

 Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Combined Medical Services (CMS) Notification 2026 has been released on 11 March 2026 on the official website https://upsc.gov.in. A total of 1358 vacancies have been announced through the UPSC CMS Recruitment 2026 for various medical officer posts.

Candidates up to 32 years of age (General) / 35 years for CHS Medical Officers who have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS Examination are eligible to apply for these Medical Officer posts including Assistant Divisional Medical Officer (Railways), Medical Officer (CHS), GDMO NDMC and GDMO Grade-II MCD vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Candidate must have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS Examination from a recognized university.
• Provisional Admission: A candidate who has appeared or is yet to appear in the final MBBS Examination may also apply. Such admission will be provisional and subject to cancellation if proof of passing is not produced within the stipulated time period after result declaration of the written examination (within 15 days window provided by the Commission).
• Marital Status: No person who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a living spouse, or having a living spouse has entered into a marriage with any other person, shall be eligible, unless exempted under personal law applicable and with Central Government approval.

Salary / Stipend

• Pay Matrix Level-10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500) + Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) as per rules. Private practice is prohibited.

Age Limit (as on 01-08-2026)

• Maximum Age (General): 32 Years (candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1994)
• For Medical Officers Grade – General Duty (CHS): Maximum 35 Years as on 01.08.2026

 

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS Candidates: Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only)
• Exempted from Fee: All Female candidates, SC candidates, ST candidates, and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates

Selection Process
