Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recruited 731 Stenographer Grade C & D posts. Candidates with 12TH can apply online from 24-04-2026 to 15-05-2026 through the SSC website, ssc.gov.in.

Application Fee

Selection Process

• Computer Based Test (CBT): 200 marks (objective; General Intelligence & Reasoning 50, GA 50, English 100); qualifying: 30% UR, 25% OBC/EWS, 20% others.
• Skill Test in Stenography (Qualifying): Grade C: 100 wpm (English/Hindi); Grade D: 80 wpm (English/Hindi) (10 min dictation; 40% UR/EWS, 35% others pass marks).
• Document Verification (DV) by User Departments.
• Final Merit: Based on CBT marks (category-wise); All India Service Liability.

 

Salary

Pay Component	Details
Stenographer Grade C (post selection)	Pay Level-7 (₹44,900 - 1,42,400); approx. CTC ₹10-12 LPA (incl. DA, HRA, perks).
Stenographer Grade D (post selection)	Pay Level-4 (₹25,500 - 81,100); approx. CTC ₹6-8 LPA (incl. DA, HRA, perks).
Additional Benefits	DA, HRA/quarters, TA, medical, PF, gratuity, pension, leave encashment etc. as per rules.
