Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications:

  • Trade Apprentice - Fitter (Code 107): Matriculation with regular full time 2 years ITI (Fitter) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks required.
  • Trade Apprentice - Electrician (Code 108): Matriculation with regular full time 2 years ITI (Electrician) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks required.
  • Trade Apprentice - Electronics Mechanic (Code 109): Matriculation with regular full time 2 years ITI (Electronics Mechanic) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks required.
  • Trade Apprentice - Instrument Mechanic (Code 110): Matriculation with regular full time 2 years ITI (Instrument Mechanic) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks required.
  • Trade Apprentice - Machinist (Code 111): Matriculation with regular full time 2 years ITI (Machinist) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. Pass marks required.
  • Technician Apprentice - Mechanical (Code 101): 3 years regular full time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates from Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.
  • Technician Apprentice - Electrical (Code 102): 3 years regular full time Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates from Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.
  • Technician Apprentice - Instrumentation (Code 103): 3 years regular full time Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates from Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.

  • Technician Apprentice - Electronics (Code 106): 3 years regular full time Diploma in Electronics Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates from Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.
  • Graduate Apprentice (Code 112): Regular full time Graduate in any discipline (BBA/BA/B.Com/B.Sc.) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates from Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.
  • Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator Fresher (Code 113): Class 12th (but below graduate).
  • Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator Skill Certificate Holders (Code 114): Class 12th (but below graduate). Additionally, candidates should possess Skill Certificate of 'Domestic Data Entry Operator' for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognized under National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognized by the Central Government.


Salary/Stipend

  • Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 4,500/- per month from Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) + Remaining amount from IOCL + Rs. 2,500/- as Miscellaneous expenses.
  • Technician Apprentice: Rs. 4,000/- per month from Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) + Remaining amount from IOCL + Rs. 2,500/- as Miscellaneous expenses.
  • Trade Apprentice: Stipend as prescribed under Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992/2019 (paid in full by IOCL) + Rs. 2,500/- as Miscellaneous expenses.
  • Rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992/2019 as amended from time to time.
  • Over and above the statutory stipend, an additional amount of Rs. 2,500/- shall be paid to the Apprentices as Miscellaneous expenses.
  • The cost of stipend borne by the Central Government shall be restricted to the first-time training only.
  • Part of the Graduate and Technician apprentice stipend is disbursed by Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) directly in their bank accounts under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.


Age Limit (as on 31-12-2025)

  • General/UR/EWS: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 24 years
  • SC/ST: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 29 years (Relaxation of 5 years)
  • OBC-NCL: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 27 years (Relaxation of 3 years)
  • PwBD (General): Minimum 18 years and Maximum 34 years (Relaxation of 10 years)
  • PwBD (SC/ST): Minimum 18 years and Maximum 39 years (Relaxation of 15 years)
  • PwBD (OBC-NCL): Minimum 18 years and Maximum 37 years (Relaxation of 13 years)


Application Fee

  • No Application Fee is required for applying to IOCL Apprentice positions.
  • Candidates can apply free of cost through NAPS/NATS portal.

Selection Process

  • There will be no written Test/Interview for selection.
  • Merit list of all candidates who have applied against respective posts in the portal and meeting the eligibility criteria shall be prepared based on the percentage of marks secured in the prescribed qualification for the post.
  • In case of two candidates securing same percentage of marks, the candidate with earlier date of birth (older in age) shall be considered.
  • In case of same date of birth, candidates having a higher percentage marks in matriculation shall be considered.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
  • Candidates will have to complete Pre-engagement medical fitness test for being adjudged suitable for engagement.
