Punjab PTI Recruitment 2026 - 2000 vacancy

 The Education Recruitment Directorate, Punjab (ERD Punjab) has released a recruitment notification for 2000 Physical Training Instructor (PTI) posts under the Primary Cadre in the School Education Department, Punjab. This recruitment is being carried out on the basis of memo no. 1/2026869727/1 dated 19-06-2026 issued by the Director of School Education (Elementary), Punjab. ERD Punjab PTI Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

As per Appendix 'B' of the Punjab State Elementary Education (Physical  Training Instructor) Service Rules, 2023 (as amended in 2025), candidates must have passed 10+2 along with at least a two-year diploma or certificate in Physical Education, referred to as Diploma in Physical Education or Certificate in Physical Education (D.P.Ed/C.P.Ed) or an equivalent course under any other nomenclature.

Educational Resources

Candidates who are in the final year of their D.P.Ed/C.P.Ed diploma or certificate course are also eligible to apply, provided they successfully complete and pass the diploma/certificate before the final  recruitment merit list date (the deadline for this is the final recruitment merit list date, not the last date of this recruitment process).

Additionally, as per Punjab  Government notification G.S.R.72/Const./Art.309/Amd.(22)/2022 dated 28-10-2022, candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent examination in Punjabi. Candidates who have not studied Punjabi at the Matric level must clear a qualifying Punjabi language test with a minimum of 50% marks; failing this will disqualify the candidate from the final merit list irrespective of their score in the main written test.

Physical Eligibility Test (PET) Criteria

The Physical Eligibility Test is qualifying in nature and comprises five components. A candidate must successfully clear at least three of the five components to qualify.

Differently-abled candidates are exempted from the PET as per the notification. The PET will be conducted by the recruiting agency or the Education Recruitment Directorate, and its applicability and conditions for persons with disability will follow the instructions of the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Government of Punjab.

ERD Punjab PTI Salary

Selected candidates will be engaged on a fixed pay scale as per the Punjab State Elementary Education (Physical Training Instructor) Service Rules, 2023, and its First Amendment Rules, 2025.

Selection Process

Selection for the PTI (Primary Cadre) posts will be based on a combined merit prepared from a written test and sports achievement weightage, as per the following distribution out of a total of 100 marks.
